- Written Exam: The first stage of the selection process is the written exam, in which candidates are tested on general knowledge, English, Kannada, and engineering-related technical subjects. - Personality Test: Candidates who qualify the written exam are then called for a personality test. This test is designed to assess the candidate’s personal qualities, communication skills, and suitability for the role. The personality test carries a weightage of up to 5% of the total marks.

They will have to submit original certificates related to their education, category, and other eligibility criteria. Eligibility
- The age limit for the Assistant Executive Engineer (Grade-1) Group-A post is set between a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 35 years for general candidates based on the recruitment guidelines of the Government of Karnataka.
- For eligibility, candidates must have a degree in civil engineering or equivalent from a recognized university, or they must have passed Part A and B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) in relevant fields such as civil engineering or construction technology.
- Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Karnataka State Government rules.
