Eligibility Criteria

Candidates for the first category should have permanent residence in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Another selection will be provided to disabled children, HIV infected and children of sweepers.

The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 2 lakh.

For admission in standard LKG, the date of birth of the child should be between 31st July 2017 to 31st July 2018.

All children of parents belonging to EWS category (Economically Weaker Section Category), Disadvantaged Group Special Category and Disadvantaged Group Category can apply under this government scheme.

For admission in standard 1, the date of birth of the child should be between 31st July 2015 to 31st July 2016.

Or candidates belonging to MBC, ST, SC-Others, BC-Others, SC-Arunthathiyar, OC, DNC (Denotified Community), or Social Category are eligible to apply.

Right to Education is a constitutional law according to which education is free and compulsory for all children below the age of 14 years. Under the RTE Act, 25% of the total admission seats are reserved for poor and BPL children in RTE aided private schools. Every year the Tamil Nadu government provides free education to more than 1.5 lakh poor children through RTE.
