CTET Exam Date 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the CTET application form on the official website ctet.nic.in. Candidates willing to appear for the exam can apply for the CTET exam 2024 from September 17, 2024, to October 16, 2024.

The CTET online correction facility will be announced soon on the official website. The CTET July 2024 exam will be held on December 01, 2024, in two shifts, morning and afternoon.

The CTET exam is conducted for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 exam is for candidates who wish to teach classes 1 to 5 while those who wish to teach classes 6 to 8 are eligible.

CTET December 2024 Application Form Apply

  • Visit the official website of CTET at ctet.nic.in
  • Now, click on CTET December Application Form 2024
  • Read the instructions and then click on the tick box agreeing to all the details
  • Fill the CTET December 2024 registration form with personal details (candidate’s name, parent’s name, date of birth, and gender), contact details, password, and security question and answer
  • Now, enter the security pin of CTET December online form 2024 and click on the submit button.
  • Go to the next page and fill out the CTET application form 2024 with the required details
  • Candidates have to enter the details on the CTET online form 2024, which includes the candidate’s name, date of birth, parent’s name, PwD, Language I, Language II, qualifying exam, and choice of exam center
  • Finally, click on the I Accept button submit it, and go to the next page

Candidates have to upload the relevant documents on the dashboard. The required documents such as photos and signatures have to be uploaded in scanned format. Candidates have to follow all the guidelines while uploading the documents on the CTET application form.

Finally, candidates have to pay the CTET December 2024 application fee based on their category. The fee must be paid using a debit card, credit card, or net banking.

Those who successfully pay their CTET online form fee will be called to appear for the exam 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

To complete the CTET December application form candidates must first fulfill the basic eligibility criteria.

The detailed age limit and educational qualification is prescribed in the CTET notification PDF which can be checked below.

Eligibility Criteria for Classes I-V or Primary Stage

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) with at least 45% marks. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) following the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. OR
  • “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)”
  • “(a) who has obtained the qualification of Bachelor of Education from an NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V, provided that a person appointed as a teacher shall compulsorily undergo a six-month bridge course in elementary education recognized by the NCTE within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher”.

Eligibility Criteria for Classes VI-VIII or Elementary Stage

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in the final year of 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)* passed or appearing. OR
  • Any candidate who has passed B.Ed. the program recognized by NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. Further, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, any person who is pursuing any one of the teacher education courses (recognized by NCTE or RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also eligible to appear in TET/CTET.

CTET December Exam 2024 Structure

All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four options out of which one answer will be the most appropriate. Each question will carry one mark and there will be no negative marking. CTET will have two papers.

  1. Paper I will be for a person who wishes to become a teacher of classes I to V.
  2. Paper II will be for a person who wishes to become a teacher of classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who wants to become a teacher for both the levels (Class I to V and Class VI to VIII) needs to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Nature and Standard of Questions

  • The duration of the exam is two and half hours.
  • The test items in Language I will focus on competencies related to the medium of teaching.
  • The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners, and the characteristics and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
  • The test items in Language II will focus on the elements of language, communication, and comprehension abilities.
  • Language II will be a language other than Language I. A candidate can choose any one language as Language I and the other as Language II from the available language options and he has to specify the same in the confirmation page.
  • The questions in the exam for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed in the NCERT syllabus for classes I-V, but their difficulty level as well as linkages may be up to the Secondary level.
  • The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on concepts, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items will be evenly distributed across different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed by NCERT for Classes I-V.

Nature and Standard of Questions

Test items in Mathematics and Science will carry 30 marks each. Test items will be distributed equally across various divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed by NCERT for Classes VI-VIII.
  • Language II will be any language other than Language I. The candidate may choose any one language as Language I and any other as Language II from the available language options and he/she has to specify the same in the confirmation page.
  • The questions in the exam for Paper II will be based on the topics prescribed in the NCERT syllabus for Classes VI-VIII but their difficulty level as well as linkages may be up to the Senior Secondary level.
